Caroline takes up the story of how the nomination came about.....

"I received a phone call at the end of last week from Trudi Williamson, Chief Executive of IOM Newspapers saying she knew I had been involved with the MGP for 20 years and my name had been put forward for the CMI Personality of the Year.  It is great that it has happened in my 20th year and I am delighted as I thought I had found my dream job when appointed by the Manx Motor Cycle Club and have always put my heart and soul into our event.
I was informed that 6 or 7 people had been nominated for this category and I was asked to forward a photo and information about myself which would appear in all 3 local papers week commencing 29 September. Then it is up to everyone you know to vote for you on the forms in the Examiner, Courier and Independent and it will be like X Factor when all your family, friends, work colleagues, their partners/spouses, children, (even their pets!!) have to vote for you.

The votes have to be sent in by 10 October and I will be informed on 13 October if I had been shortlisted and if so would be invited to a black tie function at the Gaiety on 13 November when the winner will be announced.  I was speechless at first but now I feel really honoured and excited to have been nominated!

I sent the journalist quite a lot of information as they wanted to know about other areas of my life so it will be interesting to see what they have written.
