Former Manx Grand Prix and TT riders John Barton and Nigel Beattie have been appointed Riders’ Liaison Officers for the Manx Grand Prix by the race organisers, the Manx Motor Cycle Club.

The appointments are part of the continuing advancements within the organising club to improve the already good relationship between competitors and officials prior to and during the annual Manx Grand Prix races.

John and Nigel are both well known to all regular competitors in the ‘Manx’ and will ensure that all Newcomers’ in 2008 and future years will be made as welcome as returning riders and brought gently into the ‘Manx family’ atmosphere.

Both amicable and approachable personalities, Nigel, who won the Lightweight Manx Grand Prix in 2002 and John, who secured second and third podium positions in the Singles TT’s of 1977 & 2000, will be the direct link between competitors and the club.
