FURTHER FRUSTRATION FOR MANX GRAND PRIX COMPETITORS AS WEATHER LIMITS TRACK

After kicking their heels in the paddock for two days with weather affecting the schedule, some competitors finally got back on track at the 2019 Manx Grand Prix.

After kicking their heels in the paddock for two days with weather affecting the schedule, some competitors finally got back on track at the 2019 Manx Grand Prix.

However, an earlier road traffic incident meant that the start of the session was delayed to 7.35 and only the first block - the Lightweight and Ultra Lightweight  competitors, went out for a single lap – much needed as it was their first opportunity of the week.

With rain also falling, Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson declared it an untimed session with riders advised to ‘ride to the conditions’ and the session was restricted only for competitors with treaded tyres.

Gary Thompson had already confirmed the additional Friday afternoon session due to the time lost earlier in the week and the schedule for tomorrow (Friday 23rd August 2019) is now:

12.30:  Roads close around the Course

13.00:  Manx Grand Prix Lightweight & Ultra Lightweight/ Newcomers B&C qualifying

14.30:  Manx Grand Prix Senior & Junior/ Newcomers A qualifying

16.30:  Roads open around the Course

18.00:  Roads close around the Course

18.20:  Manx Grand Prix Lightweight & Ultra Lightweight/ Newcomers B&C qualifying

19.15:  Manx Grand Prix Senior and Junior/ Newcomers A qualifying

21.00:  All roads open around the Course
